Florence covered in Snow

December 21, 2010 by admin

Florence covered in snow (AP Photo/Claudio Scaccini)

A very rare event when Florence and much of Italy received snow!  As you can imagine, motorways, rail, air and local traffic around Tuscany were at a standstill.  Rome also had snow for the third time in 42 years.  Check out some great pictures from Living Venice blog…amazing photos!

What an amazing photo – looks like powdered sugar over the Florentine rooftops. Thanks so much for including Living Venice. 🙂

Prego. I had a client’s son stuck in Florence so was looking for photos and found this along with your wonderful shots of Venice. Absolutely stunning!

This is a beautiful shot! I will add it to Matt’s photos of the snow, as all of his
were from ground level. The kids all thought it was beautiful, until they saw cars getting stuck in just 2 inches of snow! At that point they realized that perhaps this snow could be a ‘problem’ for getting home… little did they know.
